A child protection charity committed to reducing the risk of children being sexually abused

Named after its founder, Baroness Lucy Faithfull of Wolvercote, the Foundation is a child protection charity operating UK wide and specialising in safeguarding children from sexual abuse. To this end, we assess and treat people perpetrating and affected by child sexual abuse and contribute to research into developing effective interventions. Our policy is to collaborate with individuals and agencies internationally to develop a more child sensitive and offender aware culture in our societies. We contribute to legislation and to policy and procedure reviews concerned with safeguarding children in faith communities, in schools, in leisure facilities, on the Internet and living away from home.

For the Family Courts and child safeguarding agencies we provide:

Integrated family and individual assessments and intervention. We use a team of specialists to work with all family members and recommend an appropriate way forward for each person whilst ensuring that the needs of the children are paramount. Cases are referred in which males and females, adults and adolescents have sexually abused or are suspected of abusing or presenting a risk to children. These include all aspects of child sexual abuse, including Internet related abuse and abuse in the context of employment.

Case and management consultancy and training to professionals concerned about child sexual abuse. These include contracts with agencies concerned with young people who exhibit sexual behaviour problems

For the Criminal Justice System we provide:

	Individually tailored assessment and intervention programmes for young offender institutions
	Consultancy and training regarding male offenders, especially high risk and complex family cases, for the National Probation Service
	Assessment, intervention and consultancy for the Prison and Probation Services in relation to women offenders
	Circles of Support and Accountability

Prevention: Stop it Now! UK & Ireland

Stop it Now! UK & Ireland is a public health child sexual abuse prevention campaign. It is a national collaboration with voluntary and statutory sector partners. We manage the campaign, run the Stop it Now! Surrey local project and the National Freephone Helpline, which has been highly successful with 84% of calls coming from our target groups: people worried about their own behaviour and families and friends of actual and potential abusers. Other local area based projects are led by partner agencies. Stop it Now! reflects the breakdown of organisational barriers and the trend towards greater working in partnership, as is developing in the wider social care community, but with clear lines of responsibility and accountability.
